Eligibility Criteria for a UK ETA Application
The UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) allows citizens of selected countries to visit the United Kingdom for short stays without needing a traditional visa. It is only available to travellers from nations that have been officially approved by UK immigration authorities.
To qualify for a UK ETA, you must hold a passport from an eligible country. Your visit must be for an approved short-term purpose, and you must not have any current UK immigration bans or restrictions. Please note that an ETA is not a visa and cannot be used if your nationality requires a full visa.
It is very important to confirm you meet all eligibility requirements before submitting your application. Applying when you are not eligible may lead to a refusal, which could make future UK travel requests more difficult. We strongly advise you to carefully review all the conditions below before you begin.
Eligible Nationalities
The following countries have been designated under the UK ETA programme. If your nationality appears in this list, you may proceed with an ETA application, provided you also meet all other eligibility conditions.
This list is representative and subject to updates. Additional countries may be added to the programme over time.
